Community entry
A Barker and close friend of Drake Waterhouse who helped raise his youngest son. One of Drake's son Daniel's earliest 'nuggets' of memories is Knott's destruction of Archbishop Laud's cathedral's organ. When he became Secretary of State under King Charles II, Knott was ennobled as Lord Penistone, allegedly Charles chose this name so that Knott would have to use the word 'penis' when introducing himself. (Penistone is a real place, a parish in England).
Knott is the son of Gregory and the father of Gomer.
